Where have we been? We haven't blogged in a while but we've been busy posting on our Facebook page and on Instagram - feel free to follow us there as well! (Just search "Orangeville Christian School" and you'll find us.) And we are still here as your favourite choice for best school as well...thank you for your support!
Orangeville Christian School is thrilled to receive the Platinum Award for "Best School" and the Gold Award for "Best Learning Centre" in the recent Reader's Choice Awards as sponsored by The Orangeville Banner. Come visit us at one of our upcoming Open Houses and see why local families have voted us "Best Private School" in Dufferin County for the last six years.
Every year, our top athletes from Grades 3-8 meet with other Christians schools to compete in our Toronto North District Track and Field. Congratulations to our relay teams and to our individual students for a day of many successes! Your enthusiasm and display of good sportsmanship is always a pleasure to witness as well.
At the end of May, we held an open house for guests to give their well-wishes to our retiring principal, Mrs. Martha Muntz. Martha has been a part of OCS for 17 years, teaching in both the grade 3/4 and 7/8 classrooms, being our resource teacher, and most recently our principal and COO. She will certainly be missed at our school as she enters this new phase of life. God's blessings to you, Mrs. Muntz, and thank you for your love and dedication to OCS and its community. Have an AWESOME retirement!
This may have been one of the coldest Track and Field days ever, but our students were on fire! Many personal bests were achieved, and even a school record was broken! It was awesome to see such great effort, sportsmanship and team building among our students!
This year OCS engaged in Expeditionary Learning, where each classroom explored an element of the Headwaters Region. We had entomologists, botanists, conservationists, naturalists and more! They had the opportunity to display and share their findings with our first Celebration of Learning evening, where we wowed our parents and friends with each classroom's expedition. Well done, students!
One of our favourite spring events is when we welcome the grandparents and friends of OCS!
They were treated to a wonderful program put on by the students, enjoyed some time browsing the classrooms, and feasted on a lovely home-cooked lunch! Thank you to the extended supportive community of OCS for coming out and being a blessing to us!
BIG NEWS FOR THE ORANGEVILLE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL FAMILY!!! The Board is pleased to announce our new principal for the 2017-18 school year, Mr. Rick Schenk. Rick officially begins at OCS on August 1, 2017 and we welcome him into our school family. Rick is passionate about glorifying God in every area of life. For 24 years, he has pursued excellence in Christian education as a teacher and administrator. He is blessed with a supportive, loving wife and four children. In his spare time, you can find Rick walking on a nature trail, playing hockey or reading a captivating treatise on some theological topic. Continue to pray for a smooth transition for Rick and his family to the Orangeville area and give thanks for this answer to prayer in our principal search.
This team worked hard!!! They played very well in a tournament in Barrie, but lost in the semi-finals, going into two over times, to which it then came down to free throws! Congratulations boys on a job well done!
We had a wonderful chapel welcoming the Wielinga's back as they visited Ontario and hearing all about their adventures and blessings at #youthfarmbiblecamp. Students learned about an unshakeable foundation and how we must Share, Seek, Serve, and Sacrifice.
