Alright, so I've finally uploaded the video of The Christmas County Spelling Bee. There are some wierd unintended effects throughout, and it jumps around a little, but I never claimed to be a film editor of any kind.
Prior to Christmas Break, Grade 5/6 wrote Christmas stories and read them to their reading buddies in Grade 1/2. The stories were a nice complement to the nativity scenes that the Grade 1/2 class made for Art.
We had a very nice Christmas chapel where we explored the word 'meek' and talked about how Christ was born in the full 'meekness' of humanity and the importance of this. It was a nice precursor to our Christmas celebration and vacation.
On Tuesday evening OCS performed the Christmas County Spelling Bee for a 'sold out' crowd. I've never seen the gym that full before and the kids and teachers did a fantastic job.
Our students collected goods for the foodbank as part of their 12 Days of Giving. They didn't stop there, they went to the Foodbank to help out for a morning. The staff go on Monday afternoon.
We had a very moving chapel today where Ms. V. shared her story of God's comfort during a difficult time of loss in her life. This was nicely tied into our commemoration of Remembrance Day tomorrow with a time of prayer for those who mourn.
